Why aren’t my Clauses appearing on a quote?

If you have created standard quote clauses in the Outputs section of the Master Matrix but they are not appearing on your quotes, the clauses may not yet be connected to an Input.

An Input is essentially a button with a dropdown menu on your screen that you manage.

How Master Matrix clauses work

Creating a clause as an Output does not automatically add it to a quote.

• Outputs are what you want JGID to produce, such as standard quote clauses.
• Inputs are the selections that tell JGID when to produce them.

An Input will only trigger the specific Outputs that have been connected to it.

How to connect clauses to a service

To make your clauses appear when a particular service is selected:

1. Open the Master Matrix.
2. Go to the Inputs section.
3. Select Services.
4. Find the relevant service and the service category or subcategory that should trigger the clauses.
5. Open that category or subcategory.
6. Click the green plus button.
7. From the first drop-down menu, select 3 – Standard Clauses for Quote.
8. The next drop-down menu will display the quote clauses created in the Outputs section.
9. Select all the clauses you want connected to that service category or subcategory.
10. Click Save.

Once this connection has been saved, selecting that service category or subcategory on a quote will trigger the connected clauses and include them in the quote.

What else can trigger quote clauses?

Standard quote clauses are not limited to Services. You can also connect clauses to the following Master Matrix Inputs:

• Services
• Instruments
• Materials
• Consumables
• PPE

Within the JHA and Risk Assessment section, you can also create and use:

• Access categories
• Location categories
• Environment categories

Each Input can trigger selected quote clauses when it has been correctly connected to those clauses through the Master Matrix.

Troubleshooting checklist

If a clause is still not appearing, check that:

• The clause has been created and saved in the Outputs section.
• The correct Input category or subcategory has been selected.
• 3 – Standard Clauses for Quote was selected from the first drop-down menu.
• The required clause was selected from the second drop-down menu.
• The connection was saved.
• The corresponding service, item or category has been selected on the quote.

Frequently asked questions

Why didn’t my clause appear after I created it?

Creating the clause only makes it available as an Output. You must also connect it to one or more Inputs before JGID knows when to include it.

Can one Input trigger multiple clauses?

Yes. You can select multiple standard quote clauses and connect them to the same service, item, category or subcategory.

Can the same clause be connected to multiple Inputs?

Yes. A clause can be linked to multiple relevant Inputs so that any of those selections can trigger it.

Do clauses have to be connected to Services?

No. Clauses can also be triggered by Instruments, Materials, Consumables, PPE and categories within the JHA and Risk Assessment section.
