Understanding Quote PDF Settings

Before You Start

Unlike most quoting systems, JGID allows you to customise how the PDF is presented without changing the Quote itself.

This means you can tailor the document to suit your client while keeping all of the original Quote information unchanged.

PDF Settings affect only the generated PDF. The Quote within JGID remains exactly the same.

Section - Hide Quote Total

This option is particularly useful when presenting multiple pricing options within a single Quote.

For example:

  • Option A — $1,000
  • Option B — $2,000

Most quoting systems automatically display a total of $3,000, which can confuse clients into thinking they are expected to purchase both options.

When Hide Quote Total is enabled:

  • All individual items and pricing remain visible.
  • The combined total is removed from the PDF.
  • Your client can clearly compare each option without being distracted by an overall total.

Note: When the Quote Total is hidden, the item prices remain visible excluding GST, however the GST summary is no longer displayed because the total has been removed.

Section - Document Label

You can also change how the document is labelled on the PDF.

Available labels include:

  • Quote
  • Estimate
  • Proposal
  • Tender
  • Budgetary Figure
  • Number Only

For example, changing the label to Estimate will display:

Estimate 1000

instead of:

Quote 1000

The selected label appears throughout the generated PDF, including the document title and footer.

Changing the label does not change the Quote inside JGID. It only changes how the PDF is presented to your client.

Best Practice

  • Use Hide Quote Total whenever you are presenting alternative pricing options within the same Quote.
  • Select the document label that best suits the stage of your sales process.
  • If you change the document label, consider including the same wording in the Quote title within JGID as a reminder that the generated PDF will use a different label.
