How to Create a Quote

Before You Start

Quotes are created from an existing Opportunity after you've completed your site visit and gathered all the information required for the job.

A Quote allows you to define the scope of works, pricing, responsibilities, terms and conditions before sending it to your client.

Step 1 - Select an Opportunity

  1. Open the Opportunity you want to quote.
  2. Click Create Quote.

Step 2 - Import a Quote Template

  1. Select Import a Quote Template.
  2. Enter a meaningful Quote title.
  3. If required, enter an Alternate ID to record your client's project, purchase order or reference number.

Step 3 - Fill In The Quote

  1. Add the required Items to your Quote.
  2. Work through the tabs from left to right:
    • Clauses
    • Provided By
    • Address
    • Intro
    • Appendix
    • Conditions & Details
  3. Then complete the Checklists section which is at the bottom of your screen.

Step 4 - Preview & Complete your Quote

  1. Preview your Quote to check the finished document.
  2. Click Quote Completed when you're ready to send it.

Best Practice

  • Complete your Items and Checklist before working through the remaining tabs. Both of these trigger the Master Matrix, which automatically generates Clauses and "Provided By" information based on your Quote.
  • Once your Items and Checklist are complete, work through the remaining tabs from left to right.
  • Write your Introduction last. Although it appears on the first page of the Quote, it's much easier to write once you've completed the rest of the Quote and have a clear understanding of the project.
  • Use the Preview Quote button before completing your Quote to check the finished PDF.
