Understanding the four user levels in JGID

JGID has four user levels that control what each person can view and change:

  1. Admin
  2. Manager
  3. Supervisor
  4. Employee

User levels may also be referred to as user permissions, access levels, user limitations, restrictions, roles or access rights.

Admin

Admin is the highest user level in JGID. An Admin has access to all areas and functions across the software.

Admins can also:

  • Open and manage user profiles.
  • View and change pay rates and personal user information.
  • Enable or disable users.

Manager

Managers have full access to most areas of JGID.

However, Managers cannot:

  • Access the restricted details of a user profile.
  • View or change user pay rates or other personal information.
  • Enable or disable users.

Apart from these user-management restrictions, Managers can access and manage all other areas of the system.

Supervisor

Supervisors have access to job-related information but cannot access:

  • New inquiries.
  • Opportunities.
  • Quotes.
  • Invoices.
  • Financial information within jobs.
  • Project notes.

Supervisors can:

  • View everyone’s calendars.
  • Schedule jobs and adjust the schedule.
  • Edit job checklists.
  • Edit the Job Hazard Analysis, also known as the JHA.
  • View field notes.

Employee

Employees have the most restricted user level.

Employees:

  • Can only view their own calendar.
  • Can see who else is scheduled with them on the same job.
  • Cannot view other people’s calendars or schedules.
  • Cannot access financial information.
  • Cannot edit the JHA or job checklist.
  • Can read and sign the JHA and checklist on their mobile phone.
  • Can view field notes but cannot view project notes.

Notes and field notes

It is important to understand the difference between these two types of notes:

  • Project notes can only be viewed by Admins and Managers.
  • Field notes can be viewed by all four user levels, including Supervisors and Employees.

Choose the correct note type based on who needs to see the information.
