Can I undo or recover a deleted item?
JGID does not currently have an undo feature for deletions. If an item is deleted, the deletion is permanent and the item cannot be recovered.
For example, if you delete a group, you will need to recreate it.
How JGID protects your information
To reduce the risk of accidental data loss, JGID provides very few options to permanently delete records. Where possible, you can change the status of an item instead:
- Decline or supersede a quote
- Abort a job
- Cancel an invoice
- Archive a client
These options preserve the record and its history without keeping it active in your workflow.
Archived clients
Archived clients are not permanently deleted. They can be found in the client archive and restored if needed.
Items containing Worksheets or DLS records
Items that already contain Worksheets or Daily Labour Summaries (DLS) cannot be deleted. This protects the operational records associated with the item.
Before deleting an item
Always check that you no longer require the item or its information before confirming a deletion.
Remember:
- Archived items may be recoverable.
- Permanently deleted items cannot be restored.
- If you are unsure, use an alternative status such as declined, superseded, aborted, cancelled or archived.
