Using Passkeys
Overview
Passkeys provide a faster, simpler and more secure way to sign in to JGID.
Instead of entering your password each time, you can use your device's built-in security, such as your fingerprint, face recognition or screen lock.
Passkeys are designed to be more secure than traditional passwords and help protect your account from phishing attacks.
Adding a Passkey
To add a Passkey:
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Select your name.
- Click Manage Account.
- Select Add Passkey.
- Follow the prompts provided by your device or browser.
Your device will securely save the Passkey for future logins.
Signing In with a Passkey
Once a Passkey has been added, you'll have the option to sign in using your device instead of entering your password.
Depending on your device, this may use:
- Fingerprint recognition
- Face recognition
- Windows Hello
- Apple Face ID or Touch ID
- Your device PIN or screen lock
Using Multiple Devices
You can add Passkeys on multiple trusted devices, allowing you to sign in securely whether you're using your computer, tablet or mobile phone.
If You Replace Your Device
If you purchase a new device, you may need to add a new Passkey.
If you've lost access to all of your Passkeys and can't sign in, please contact JGID Support for assistance.
Best Practice
- Add a Passkey to devices you use regularly.
- Continue using a strong password as a backup.
- Keep your devices protected with a PIN, fingerprint or facial recognition.
- Remove Passkeys from devices you no longer use or trust.
