Moving Tasks Between Lists

Overview

As work progresses, Tasks can be moved from one List to another.

Each List represents a different stage of your workflow, allowing everyone on the Board to instantly see the current status of every Task.

Drag and Drop

The quickest way to update a Task is to simply drag and drop it into another List.

For example:

To Do

Doing

Done

Or on a Quote Follow Up Board:

Quote Sent

First Follow Up

Second Follow Up

Won

Moving a Task immediately updates its current stage without changing any of the Task's other information.

Moving a Task While Editing

You don't have to be viewing the Task Board to update a Task's List.

When editing a Task, simply select a different List from the drop-down menu and save your changes.

This is particularly useful when updating Tasks directly from an Opportunity, Quote, Job or Invoice.

Why Managers Love Lists

Moving Tasks regularly keeps your workflow accurate.

Everyone can immediately see what work still needs attention and what has already progressed to the next stage.

Best Practice

  • Move Tasks as soon as work progresses.
  • Keep your Board up to date.
  • Use Lists to represent stages of work, not priorities.
