Creating a Location
Overview
There are two ways to create a Location in JGID.
You can either create a Location directly from the CRM, or create one while recording a New Enquiry.
Both methods create exactly the same Location record within your CRM.
Method 1 - Create a Location from the CRM
Creating a Location directly from the CRM is useful when you're setting up your customer database or adding sites before work begins.
Simply open the CRM, select Locations, then choose New Location and enter the Location details.
Once created, the Location can be linked to one or more Clients and one or more Contacts.
Method 2 - Create a Location from a New Enquiry
If you're recording a New Enquiry and can't find the Location you're looking for, simply create a new Location without leaving the Enquiry.
When the Enquiry is saved, the Location is automatically added to your CRM.
If you've also created a new Client and Contact during the Enquiry, all three records will automatically be linked together.
Many businesses find this to be the quickest and most natural way to grow their CRM.
Building Relationships
Locations can also be used to build relationships within your CRM.
From within a Location you can:
- Add New Client to create a brand-new Client.
- Add Existing Client to link an existing Client.
- Add New Contact to create a brand-new Contact.
- Add Existing Contact to link an existing Contact.
This allows a Location to remain connected to multiple organisations and multiple people throughout its lifetime.
Best Practice
- Create one Location for each physical site.
- Reuse existing Locations whenever work returns to the same site.
- Use Add Existing whenever possible.
- Record permanent site information using Notes and Field Notes.
