Creating a Client

Overview

There are two ways to create a Client in JGID.

You can either create a Client directly from the CRM, or create one while recording a new Enquiry.

Both methods create exactly the same Client record within your CRM.

Method 1 - Create a Client from the CRM

Creating a Client from the CRM is useful when you're setting up your customer database or adding organisations before work begins.

Simply open the CRM, select Clients, then choose New Client and enter the Client's details.

Once created, the Client becomes available throughout JGID and can be used when creating Enquiries, Opportunities, Quotes, Jobs and Invoices.

Method 2 - Create a Client from a New Enquiry

If you're recording a new Enquiry and can't find the Client you're looking for, you can create a new Client without leaving the Enquiry.

When the Enquiry is saved, the Client is automatically added to your CRM.

If you've also created a new Contact and Location during the Enquiry, all three records will automatically be linked together.

Many businesses find this to be the quickest and most natural way to build their CRM over time.

Building Relationships

Once a Client has been created, you can begin building relationships by adding Contacts and Locations.

From within the Client you can either:

  • Add New Contact to create a brand-new Contact.
  • Add Existing Contact to link an existing Contact.
  • Add New Location to create a brand-new Location.
  • Add Existing Location to link an existing Location.

This allows a single Client to be associated with multiple people and multiple worksites without creating duplicate records.

Best Practice

  • Create new Clients only when they don't already exist.
  • Use Add Existing whenever a Contact or Location is already in your CRM.
  • If entering a new Enquiry, simply create any missing records as you go.
