Understanding Related Documents
Overview
Every Opportunity creates a unique Project within JGID.
As the Project progresses, additional records may be created, including Quotes, Jobs, Orders and Invoices.
The Related Documents panel allows you to quickly navigate between all documents associated with the same Project, giving you a complete history from the initial enquiry through to the final invoice.
Why Use Related Documents?
Rather than searching for individual records, Related Documents keeps every document for a Project together in one place.
From a Quote, Job or Invoice, you can immediately see:
- All Quotes
- All Jobs
- All Orders
- All Invoices
This makes it easy to understand the history of a Project and quickly move between related records.
Where Can I Find It?
The Related Documents panel is available on the right-hand side of:
- Quotes
- Jobs
- Invoices
No matter which stage of the Project you are working on, you can easily access the other related records.
What Can I See?
Depending on the Project, the Related Documents panel may include:
- Original Quote
- Quote Versions
- Multiple Jobs
- Manual Job Repetitions
- Automatic Job Repetitions
- Purchase Orders
- Progress Invoices
- Final Invoice
Every document remains linked back to the original Project.
Navigating a Project
Related Documents makes it easy to answer questions such as:
- Which Quote was approved?
- Has another Job already been completed for this Project?
- How many invoices have been issued?
- Has the customer already paid a deposit?
- Has another Job Repetition already been created?
Instead of searching throughout JGID, simply open the Related Documents panel to view the complete Project history.
Understanding the Project Timeline
As work progresses, a Project may grow to include many related records.
For example:
