Understanding the Job Scope

Overview

The Job Scope gives your field team a clear understanding of the work that has been quoted and approved.

It provides a technician-friendly version of the Quote, allowing supervisors and technicians to see exactly what is included in the Job without exposing any pricing or financial information.

This helps ensure everyone is working to the same agreed scope.

What is the Job Scope?

The Job Scope is generated from the accepted Quote and includes the information your team needs to complete the work.

Depending on the Job, it may include:

  • Quote introduction.
  • Scope of works.
  • Responsibilities and "Provided By" information.
  • Individual line items.
  • Composed Item breakdowns.
  • Additional comments for each activity.

Pricing and financial information are intentionally hidden.

Why Use the Job Scope?

The Job Scope keeps the office, field team and customer aligned.

Rather than relying on verbal instructions or printed paperwork, technicians can view exactly what has been approved for the project from within the JGID Business Mobile App.

This reduces misunderstandings and helps prevent work being completed outside the agreed scope.

Additional Comments

Managers can include additional comments against individual line items.

These comments are only visible internally and provide extra guidance for supervisors and technicians.

For example, comments might include:

  • Site-specific instructions.
  • Installation requirements.
  • Safety reminders.
  • Sequencing of work.
  • Customer requests.

These comments are not visible to the customer.

Downloading the Job Scope

The Job Scope can be downloaded from the mobile app for reference.

This can be useful if you need to refer to the document while working in areas with poor mobile reception.

Please note that accessing the JGID Business Mobile App itself still requires an internet connection.

Best Practice

  • Review the Job Scope before starting work.
  • Confirm you understand what has been quoted before beginning any task.
  • Use the Additional Comments to check for special instructions.
  • Contact your supervisor if the customer requests work that falls outside the approved scope.

  • Viewing Scheduled Jobs
  • Using Field Notes
  • Completing a Worksheet (Timesheet)
  • Completing a Daily Labour Summary (DLS)
  • Completing a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
