Closing PDF Previews on Apple Devices
Overview
When previewing PDF documents on an Apple iPhone or iPad, you may notice that there is no Close button.
This is normal behaviour for iOS and is not an issue with the JGID Business Mobile App.
How to close a PDF Preview
To return to the JGID Business Mobile App after viewing a PDF:
- Swipe the PDF left, right, up or down.
- The preview will close and you'll be returned to the screen you were viewing previously.
There is no need to close and reopen the JGID Business Mobile App.
Why Doesn't Apple Show a Close Button?
Apple uses its own built-in PDF preview for documents opened from mobile apps.
Depending on your version of iOS, this preview may not display a dedicated Close button.
Instead, Apple uses swipe gestures to dismiss the preview.
This behaviour is controlled by Apple and is consistent across many apps that preview PDF documents.
Best Practice
- If you don't see a Close button, simply swipe the PDF away.
- Do not force close the JGID Business Mobile App.
- Once the preview is dismissed, you can continue exactly where you left off.
