Moving and Rescheduling Jobs

Moving and Rescheduling Jobs

Overview

Plans change, and JGID makes it easy to keep your schedule up to date.

Once a Job has been scheduled, you can quickly move it to a different day or time, adjust its duration, or reallocate it as your workload changes. Any technicians assigned to the Job will move with it, making rescheduling fast and efficient.

Moving a Job

To move a scheduled Job:

  1. Locate the Job in the Scheduler.
  2. Click and drag the Job to its new date or time.
  3. Release the mouse to drop the Job into its new position.

The Job will immediately be rescheduled.

If technicians have already been assigned, they will move with the job provided the job is moved via drag & drop and not by manually changing the date inside the job.

Changing the Duration of a Job

If a Job needs more or less time than originally scheduled:

  1. Select the scheduled Job.
  2. Drag the start or end of the Job to increase or decrease its duration.
  3. Release the mouse to save the new schedule.

Adjusting the duration allows your schedule to remain accurate as work progresses.

Moving Multi-Day Jobs

Multi-day Jobs can be moved in the same way as single-day Jobs.

Simply drag the scheduled Job to its new starting date. The remaining scheduled duration will move with it.

If only part of the work needs to be rescheduled, consider splitting the Job first.

Rescheduling Assigned Jobs

When a Job has technicians assigned:

  • The assigned technicians remain with the Job when it is moved.
  • The scheduled duration is preserved unless you resize the Job.
  • Team allocations remain unchanged until you choose to edit them.

This allows you to quickly reorganise your schedule without having to reassign your crews.

Best Practice

  • Keep your schedule up to date as priorities change.
  • Resize Jobs to accurately reflect the expected duration of work.
  • If only part of a Job needs to move, split the Job before rescheduling it.
  • Regularly review your schedule to avoid resource conflicts and ensure technicians remain available.
