Scheduling a Job

Scheduling a Job

Overview

Once a Job appears in the Job Queue, you're ready to add it to your Schedule.

Scheduling a Job is as simple as dragging it onto the calendar, adjusting its duration and allocating your team.

Because JGID separates the Job from the people, you can schedule work immediately and assign technicians now or later.

Step 1: Find the Job

Locate the Job in the Job Queue.

If required, use the search or filter options to quickly find the Job you want to schedule.

Step 2: Drag the Job onto the Schedule

Click and drag the Job from the Job Queue onto the desired date in the Schedule.

The Job will be created using a default duration based on the Scheduler view you're currently using:

  • Month Scheduler – 1 day
  • Week Scheduler – 1 day
  • Day Scheduler – 2 hours

Step 3: Resize the Job

Before assigning technicians, adjust the Job block to reflect the expected duration of the work.

Simply drag the edge of the scheduled block until it covers the required time or days.

Setting the correct duration first makes it easier to accurately allocate your team.

Step 4: Allocate Your Team

Once the Job duration has been set, assign the required technicians to the Job.

You can allocate one person or an entire crew, depending on the work being performed.

Remember, assigning technicians is optional at this stage. If you're planning work well in advance, you can return later to allocate your team once resources have been confirmed.

Changing the Schedule

After a Job has been scheduled, you can easily:

  • Move it to another day.
  • Change its duration.
  • Add or remove technicians.
  • Split the Job across multiple dates.
  • Return the Job to the Job Queue if required.

The Schedule is designed to remain flexible as your workload changes.

Best Practice

  • Schedule the Job first, then allocate your team.
  • Resize the Job before assigning technicians.
  • Use Jobs View when building work crews.
  • Keep your Schedule up to date so everyone is working from the latest plan.
