Understanding Scheduling
Understanding Scheduling
Overview
Scheduling is the heart and soul of JGID and one of the platform's most popular features.
More than just a calendar, Scheduling connects your office team with your field technicians, ensuring everyone has access to the same up-to-date information throughout the lifecycle of a Job.
Once a technician is scheduled onto a Job, they immediately gain access to everything they need to complete the work, including the Job details, Location, team members, notes, files and other project information.
This dramatically reduces administration and improves communication between the office and the field.
Why JGID Scheduling is Different
Unlike many scheduling systems, JGID separates the Job from the people.
The Job exists as its own scheduled event, independent of the technicians assigned to it.
This unique approach provides greater flexibility when planning work and allows teams to be allocated, changed or moved without changing the Job itself.
It also introduces powerful scheduling views that aren't possible in traditional calendar applications.
Office and Field Working Together
Scheduling is where the office and field teams come together.
Once scheduled, technicians can:
- View the Job details.
- See where they need to be.
- Know when they're required.
- See who they're working with.
- Access project files and attachments.
- Add Field Notes.
- Upload photos and documents.
- Collaborate with the office in real time.
Everyone works from the same information, reducing misunderstandings and improving communication.
A Better Way to Manage Your Business
For many business owners, Scheduling becomes a significant lifestyle improvement.
Instead of spending evenings or weekends sending text messages or making phone calls to explain:
- Where people need to go.
- When they need to arrive.
- Who they're working with.
- What equipment to bring.
- Which Job they're attending.
Simply schedule your team.
Everything they need is already available within JGID.
Best Practice
- Keep your Schedule up to date so both office staff and technicians always have the latest information.
- Encourage technicians to access their Jobs through JGID rather than relying on text messages or printed paperwork.
- Use Scheduling as the primary communication tool between the office and the field.
